101 Introductions to Eating Pure Live Food:
This class will introduce the foundational concepts of eating pure live food and how it will benefit your health. Topics discussed during class include eating 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic type foods, enzyme nutrition and the basic tools for building a strong digestive/elimination system, eating a gluten-free, starch-free, and a processed food-free diet. We will prepare and share healthy snacks and various recipes, depending on the season and variety of fresh produce available. Recipes for food prepared in class will be provided.

Since World War II, Americans have been exposed to over 2 million new synthetic substances. Toxic chemical exposure is a daily occurrence that accumulates in the fat tissues of the body. To prevent toxic build-up, we must consciously support the metabolic detoxification pathways with specific adequate nutrition on a daily basis. When we nourish the body with organic whole food nutrition, the body receives the critical support for the ongoing removal of these types of fat soluble toxic substances. Women have more fat tissue than men and are typically smaller than men, so chemical exposure for women causes more damage than to men and can accumulate more easily in fat tissue. Additionally, womens’ ability to detoxify alcohol is significantly less because women produce lower amounts of the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase. Female hormones increase womens’ sensitivity to toxins, and hormonal changes can affect enzymes that regulate the detoxification process.
